ORDER FROM CHAOS (USA/MO)

Recognised as a leading and inspirational force on the early US Black Metal scene. ORDER FROM CHAOS, created in Kansas City, Missouri during 1987, debuted in 1988 with the 'Order From Chaos' and 'Inhumanities' demos followed up in 1989 by third demo session 'Crushed Infamy'. Following the debut single 'Will To Power' on the Putrefaction label, manufactured in 1100 copies. Cassette variants also surfaced through Wild Rags Records. A further demo, 'Alienus Sum', was issued, being distributed via Hexateuc Torment Productions. Wild Rags handled the inaugural full-length album, 1991's 'Stillbirth Machine'. Vinyl editions would be pressed by Decapitated Records. Pete Helmkamp subsequently created ANGEL CORPSE. The remaining two ORDER FROM CHAOS members Charles 'Chuck' Keller and Mike Miller would found two new outfits, VULPECULA and retro-Black Thrash act ARES KINGDOM, the latter for issue of a 7" EP during March of 2003 through the Polish Agonia Promotions label.

1988 DEMO

Xeroxed one panel hand numbered covers and recorded onto regular non studio tapes. Demo I was recorded January 1988 in my garage with a 4-track mixer. It contained ultra primitive versions of our first tracks 'Of Death And Dying','Quietus' and 'The Scourge'. I found the artwork in the Kansas City Star editorial column and instantly we had a cover. It sold about 75 – 100 official copies and really got the ball rolling for us.  Came w/ lyric sheet. -Chuck

TRACK LISTING:
- Of Death and Dying
- Quietus
- The Scourge

1988 DEMO INSERT:

INHUMANITIES 1988 DEMO

Xeroxed hand numbered five panel hand numbered covers and recorded onto regular non studio tapes with labels on side a. The sound was very ambiguous and atmospheric, yet it allowed our musical talents to be heard. The producer really was an oddball; he looked EXACTLY like Weird Al Yancovic, so we dubbed him Tony 'Weird Al' Walters. Pete came up with this cover... quite simple, but in a way it really reflected what the band sounded like at the time. - Chuck

TRACK LISTING:
- Victimized
- Apocalyptic Visions
- Golgotha (Second Death)
- The Scourge

CRUSHED INFAMY 1989 DEMO

Semi pro hand numbered color covers. Dubbed cassettes with labels on one side. Came w/ a lyric sheet.. Later re-released by Wild Rags w/ Printed covers and a different layout, also pro printed tapes. We recorded our widely known "Crushed Infamy" demo, from January to July 1989. We were able to take so much time with this because of my girlfriend at the time. Her father owned a studio and he was quite fond of us as a band. Though he did not really understand the band's music, he respected our discipline and dedication to our music and he graciously donated his studio and time to helping us out. The cover was painted by George Grosz in the early 20th century... it is more or less an expression of the disdain for humanity he felt following the first World War. -Chuck

TRACK LISTING:
- Webs of Perdition
- Quietus
- Crimes Against The State
- Of Death And Dying
- Blood And Thunder
